Project Research April 9th

Today you will be looking for a topic for your final project and begin gathering information to construct your lesson. Use the link below to determine the topic of you choice. Make sure to approve it with me before you begin researching the topic. Here is a link to our book so you can see all of the topics we have covered.

You may also use the blog to request students create lessons that you may be struggling with. Someone else has a pulse on what you need to know ask them to think about using it for their topic. :-)

Let's Make A Deal

Ok so today we are going to play a simple game. The game goes like this:

1. You are presented three doors.
2. You pick a door.
3. Another door is opened and you are given the chance to keep the door you picked or switch and select a new door.

What will you do? Wait what does mathematics tell you to do?

Task one: Tell us what you would do up front. Would you keep your original door or switch and select another door? Tell us why you chose to do what you did. Make sure to support your answer with mathematics!

Explore Let's Make a Deal

So, how did you do? Please explain if you were correct or not. Be sure to include mathematics to support you answer.

Wiki Time

O.k. we will be working on the wiki. You will posting to two pages today. You will spend the period exploring linear inequalities on the web and we will be building a page that we can use as a reference. This means quality explainations, quality examples and quality links.

You will also be posting ideas and helpful information about the AQT Mid-term. It can be anything you want that you think will help your classmates in preparation for the final or for next years class.

This years Wiki

Please take a few minutes to think about what topics you want to post to the Wiki the year. Post your topic and why you think it may be valuable to us. When you are done go back and look at what others have posted. You will contribute at least three more posts. Use these posts to either agree with another student that their topic is valuable or provide a rational why their topic is not of value. At the end of the period we should have it whittled down to one topic. You may want to visit the MCDL site to look at what we have covered and what is coming up.
